surgical options
Minimally invasive endoscopic strip craniectomy (ideal for younger infants)
Open cranial vault remodeling
Frontoorbital advancement for coronal and syndromic cases
Surgical Process and Recovery
Craniosynostosis surgery is performed under general anesthesia in a pediatric surgical center. Minimally invasive techniques may require only a short hospital stay, while more extensive open procedures may involve several days of inpatient care. A cranial molding helmet may be used after minimally invasive surgery to help shape the skull during healing.
Postoperative care includes close follow-up with Dr. Jarrahy and his team to monitor healing, growth, and neurological development. Most children recover well and show significant improvement in head shape, function, and development.
